Past, Present, and Future
Louis Parsons started Parsons Nursery in 1959 after graduating from Clemson University with a degree in Ornamental Horticulture. Beginning as a small growing operation, garden center and landscaping company, Louis, along with his wife and life partner Sylvia, were pursuing the American dream. In the 1980’s, they transitioned the company away from retail and landscape services to focus on annual, perennial and container plant production, building a reputation for providing premium quality products and outstanding customer service. Today, Louis and Sylvia’s dream lives on under the leadership of their son, Payton. Payton guides the company into a bright future with the family legacy of quality, innovation, and service.
Meet the Team
Payton Parsons, President
Payton grew up in Georgetown, South Carolina learning every aspect of the business from his father and Parsons Nursery founder Louis Parsons. He graduated from Clemson University with a degree in Agricultural Engineering and has been working at the nursery full time since 1998.
Sylvia Parsons, Vice President
Sylvia and husband Lou founded Parsons Nursery in 1959. She remains active in the day-to-day operation of the company and is pleased and proud to see the Parsons tradition taken to new heights in the second generation of family leadership.
